NOTE: I don’t judge anyone who believes in “hookup” culture. I don’t judge any of any kind.

What is a “hookup” culture?
A hookup is intended to be purely physical and involves both parties shutting down any communication or connection that might lead to emotional attachment. According to Psychology Today,

Hook up is a vague term; it can be just “casual sex” or friends with benefits or a one-night stand. There is no string attached. People engage with hookups because they don’t want to mess up their emotions. People who engage with hookups may like each other but not commit. They both want pleasure, fun and experiences.

What are the pros and cons of hookups?

CONS:
There’s a risk of getting transmitted disease. STDs are on the rise. I know a lot of people caught chlamydia because they had sex with multiple people all at the same time.

PROS:
There are no feelings attached. You will meet new people, and you are allowed to date other people. It might be fun to have a casual relationship.
